Hop On and Hop Off at a range of attractions around Auckland within a 24 hour period.  Operates every day.

Auckland Explorer Buses have become an icon of Auckland in their own right. The fleet has expanded considerably over time and now includes seven brand new glass roof double deckers, allowing visitors to explore Auckland in comfort no matter the weather.

Buses are equipped with free onboard wifi and multilingual commentary, including a kids’ channel.

Stop 1 - Viaduct Harbour

Our main city stop is conveniently located on the waterfront, across the road from Princes Wharf and the Maritime Museum. Just around the corner is the vibrant Viaduct Harbour precinct, while the exciting redeveloped areas of Wynyard Quarter and Silo Park are just a short stroll away over Te Wero Bridge.
This area is also the entrance to Princes Wharf and cruise ship terminals. If you’re returning to a cruise ship, Stop One is the closest stop to your ship.

Stop 2 - Bastion Point
Visit this attraction on our Red Tour
Bastion Point offers magnificent views out over the Hauraki Gulf and Waitemat? Harbour, as well as back to central Auckland. It’s one of the best places in Auckland to take photos of the skyline and harbour. As the name suggests, its position overlooking the harbour makes it an ideal defence point for the city. The M?ori name for this area is Takaparawh?.
This scenic area includes the Savage Memorial, which commemorates Michael Joseph Savage, one of New Zealand’s most beloved prime ministers. It has beautifully kept gardens and a reflecting pool, with a delightful Art Deco memorial and obelisk.

Stop 4 - Parnell Rose Gardens
Visit this attraction on our Red Tour

The Parnell Rose Gardens is a festival of colour and scent, and home to some 5000 rose bushes. It’s also known as Dove-Myer Robinson Park, in honour of our most popular and longest serving mayor.

The rose gardens showcase new and old rose varieties, many of which have been bred by internationally celebrated rose breeders. The cottage-style Nancy Steen garden offers excellent examples of heritage roses. There’s also a ‘white garden’ which is a popular venue for weddings.

Stop 5 - Holy Trinity Cathedral
Visit this attraction on our Red Tour
Holy Trinity Cathedral in Parnell is Auckland’s principal Anglican church, as well as a stunning venue for music and cultural performances.

The cathedral was completed in 1995 and is built in a unique ‘Pacific Gothic’ style, with magnificent stained glass windows. It seats twelve hundred people.

The main street of the suburb of Parnell features a wonderful blend of old and new, with restored timber villas housing charming boutique shops, art galleries, elegant cafes and restaurants.

There are many New Zealand-made treasures to be found here, from designer jewellery and clothing to gifts, paintings and sculptures.

Stop 8 - Queen Street

This stop is the perfect place to start exploring midtown Auckland. We stop outside 227 Queen St.
From here you can explore Queen Street, known as Auckland’s ‘Golden Mile’ for its range of shopping and entertainment offerings. The Auckland Art Gallery and Albert Park are also nearby, and it’s an easy ten to fifteen minute walk down Queen Street to the waterfront.

Eden Garden is a magical microcosm of the art and craft of gardening and has been described as Auckland’s best-kept garden secret.

Discover this peaceful sanctuary in the heart of Auckland. Wander through a 5.5 acre award-winning garden on the side of Mt Eden and explore its many plant collections, including perennials, vireyas, camellias, bromeliads and native New Zealand plants. There’s always something in bloom. Enjoy the waterfalls, rock formations, resident native birds and fabulous city and harbour views.

Stop 12 - Mt Eden / Maungawhau

Mt Eden (Maungawhau) is one of the most prominent volcanic cones in the Auckland region and offers simply stunning views over the city and harbour.
The summit of Mt Eden rises 196 metres or 643 feet above sea level. On a clear day, you can see many of Auckland’s popular attractions including the Sky Tower, the Auckland Harbour Bridge, the Waitakere Ranges and out to Rangitoto Island.

Stop 15 - Auckland Zoo
