Getting to Wellington
Although Wellington has an international airport, its notoriously windy weather and limited runway space mean it is not a major gateway for international flights. However, there are trans-Tasman flights connecting Wellington to Australia. The city also serves as the end/start point for the Northern Explorer train, making it easily accessible for travellers exploring the North Island. It is also the gateway to the South Island with ferry services from Wellington to Picton.

This is a city well worth spending at least a couple of days in. Walking is a great way to explore the sights & there is good public transport or Ubers if you get tired or the weather turns
