Regional Train Services -

For timetable and fare information for The Capital Connection (Wellington/Otaki/Levin/Palmerston North) and The Wairarapa Connection (Wellington/Featherston/Masterton) trains, please phone Metlink on 0800-801-700 tollfree in New Zealand or click for online fares and timetable information for The Capital Connection or The Wairarapa Connection.

The Capital Connection and The Wairarapa Connection train services are commuter trains, so reservations are not required. Tickets for these trains are available from ticket office - Wellington Railway Station, Masterton Railway Station, Featherston Railway Station and Palmerston North Railway Station or from the respective Train Manager's on the day of travel.

There are no passenger train services - Christchurch to Dunedin, Dunedin to Christchurch, Christchurch to Invercargill, Dunedin to Invercargill, Invercargill to Christchurch, Invercargill to Dunedin, Christchurch to Queenstown, Christchurch to Mt Cook, Queenstown to Mt Cook or Queenstown to Christchurch.

There are no passenger train/rail services to or from - Bay of Islands, Whangarei, Tauranga, Rotoura, Taupo, Gisborne, Napier, Hastings, New Plymouth, Wanganui, Nelson, Dunedin, Mt Cook, Westport, Fox or Franz Josef Glaciers, Wanaka, Te Anau, Queenstown or Invercargill.
